PADC Brief Creation

Today, Jessica Witt and I were talking all things design, double diamonds and aged care with the future designers of the world for the Perth Advertising and Design Club (PADC) Digital Experience brief. We covered 25 years of knowledge in 25 minutes! It was a wild ride, but not impossible.

So about the brief....Jess and I crafted a brief focused on aged care, designed to get students thinking holistically. As the global population ages, there's increasing strain on resources to support the healthcare, social, and psychological needs of older adults. Limited resources coupled with the growing demand for elderly care pose significant challenges for governments, healthcare providers, and society.

We challenged the students to design a digital solution that empowers seniors, choosing one or combining several of the following problem statements: Cybersecurity, Predictive Health Management, and/or Social Connections.

This is the third year Telstra Purple has been involved, and this year we've taken a more active role by creating the brief. In the past, we've had the honour of being mentors.

Thank you to Ting Sia, Brendan Hibbert and Tim Ewers for inviting us to be part of this amazing design community event. Thank you to the students from North Metropolitan TAFE and Curtin University for asking great questions and being so delightful.
